Chemical Engineering students must enroll in two internships in the industry during their four-year undergraduate education.
Each internship lasts for 20 business days. Students who fulfill prerequisites in the syllabi of internship courses must receive approval of the faculty member charge of the internship courses. The internships should involve industries in which chemical engineers work and take place in the summer months following the 2nd and 3rd years of the undergraduate program.
Internship courses of the Department of Chemical Engineering are determined as CHE300 following the 4th semester and as CHE400 Internship following the 6th semester in the education plan.
The goal of the internships is to contribute to the academic and professional development of students in line with the educational objectives and outcomes of the Chemical Engineering Department, as well as to help students gain knowledge of practical application of theoretical knowledge in preparation for the Design and Economics courses in the 4th year of the Chemical Engineering undergraduate program.
