In order to ensure that our students work on projects integrated with industry, the COOP system, also known as the Cooperative Education Course, is implemented within the Faculty of Engineering.
Within the scope of COOP, 4th grade students whose GPA is over 2.5 and who are at the stage of taking the Design Course can enroll in the course within the quota.
Students go to an industrial organization with an agreement for 13 weeks and work on projects determined by the organization under the supervision of the instructor teaching the course.
COOP course registration can be made in the Fall or Spring semesters.
Within the scope of this course, at the beginning of each semester, the benefits and outcomes of joint education, auditing and evaluation processes of the application are explained to the students on the university campus for 2 weeks, and then they are obliged to go to the workplace with which the agreement is made for 1 day/week for 13 weeks.
In the Cooperative Education Application, which is different from the summer internship and is taken as a credited technical course, which can only be taken by students selected among successful students, students work on projects whose subject and objectives are determined as engineer candidates.
The student keeps a diary covering the work he/she has done and prepares the project results as a technical report at the end of the semester. The student presents and defends his/her report before a jury at the company and university.
